Duruflé and Mozart: A concert in memory of Will Rowe

November 15, 2025 7:30 pm

Halifax Minster, Causeway, Halifax, UK

£12

Halifax Chamber Choir returns to Halifax Minster on November 15th at 7.30pm for a concert of contrasts. A gentle, timeless and chant-inspired Requiem by French composer Maurice Duruflé and a jubilant, elegant and radiant Coronation Mass by Mozart.

Halifax Chamber Choir is delighted to have Dr David Baker accompanying the choir on the Minster organ, recognised as one of the UK’s great organs. Dr David Baker is a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists and founder of the Halifax Organ Academy, based at Halifax Minster. The choir is directed by the Slovenian conductor and musicologist, Aljoša Škorja. Josh was appointed director of the choir in 2015 after completing a post-graduate degree at RNCM in Manchester.

We are proud to dedicate this concert to the fond memory of Will Rowe. Will joined Halifax Chamber Choir as a tenor shortly after becoming a member of Halifax Choral Society in 2000. He continued to sing with Halifax Chamber Choir until his death in December last year. He is greatly missed and fondly remembered.

Individual tickets are £12 and may be purchased  at the door (under 18s free).

Tickets are also available online at £12 or two for £20.
